Ok, I just finished Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season Episode 4. Though I gather I'll be in the minority I liked the holodeck episode. It was a cute parody of the original series also Anson Mount did a fantastic parody of Gene Roddenberry. I knew Gene and it was amusing seeing this comical homage to him. I think the was the perfect episode to have after the intense zombie Klingon episode last week. A lot of people get annoyed by humorous episodes, but I enjoy them because I'm open minded and the original series had plenty of tongue in cheek episodes.

I am thoroughly disgusted with the treatment that Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein is getting from Netflix. The fact is that for the past 13 days this film has been out in theatres and Netflix has done nothing to promote it. They have released a few trailers on YouTube but no ads on TV. Also, Netflix only released the film to independent art house theatres and the first five days of release was only in New York and Boston, then at a mere three hundred theatres after. As a result Frankenstein only made 120,000 domestically. The reason is that amount of release was the minimum for Academy Award inclusion. Unfortunately, that minimum denies best picture and all actor awards nominations. So, after all his 10 years of preparation and craftsmanship Guillermo del Toro and his cast are being screwed. As well, the audience has been denied the chance to see this masterpiece the way Del Toro created it to be seen. This is a disgrace. Netflix is a bunch of assholes.
Check out this film that tried to be a throwback to the Italian paranormal classics of the 80s...
