Last night I watched the new art house psychological sci fi film Slingshot.
Slingshot tells the story of an astronaut (played by Casey Afflect) is fighting to maintain his grip on reality during a possibly compromised mission to Titan.
This film features Laurence Fishburn, but this veteran actor is wasted in this film. Fishburn tries to bring something to his role as Captain Franks but is a part that anyone could be stuck in. It was just a sad waste of talent.
The sets do provide a claustrophobic feel and is a good setup for the twist in the plot, though even that is in the viewer's face and obvious.
The twist is so obvious and predictable that it is boring and unsatisfying.
So, in conclusion Slingshot is just plainly a waste of time that I can't at all recommend.
