I just finished watching the season finale of Goosebumps and I have to say I'm not happy.
The thing is this would have been an ok horror TV series if they hadn't connected it to RL Stein's work. This series does have Easter eggs to the YA anthology series.
The problem is this series doesn't even try to provide the atmosphere of the anthology series, which had been written for ten to fifteen years old children. Seriously the only thing in this series that was even close to the books was Slappy the dummy. Seriously, the two Jack Black Goosebumps films were more Goosebumps-like than this piece of crap.
And, much like Netflix trilogy of Fear Street films if injects an over amount of WOKE social politics. Something RL Stein would never do.
Seriously, if I want to watch Goosebumps I'll watch the 90s TV series. That one was a beautifully done adaptation of RL Stein's work.
